Sybase introduces PowerBuilder Web Framework Services
Sybase has introduced PowerBuilder Web Framework Services in a bid to extend its application to the Web. The framework is built on a J2EE 1.3 certified application server and it will aid in the quick-start a Web application and reuse of existing PowerBuilder codes.

MUMBAI: Aimed at offering consultants a rich set of foundations for extending existing PowerBuilder applications to the Web, Sybase has introduced PowerBuilder Web Framework Services. PowerBuilder customers who need to Web-enable their existing PowerBuilder applications will be benefited from this framework.
Sybase South Asia director, Govind Nangrani said, "The Framework for PowerBuilder provides a host of new features that continue to allow developers to build powerful applications easily and rapidly. It will benefit the Indian developer community and boost their productivity and make Web-centric software projects easier to manage," he added.
The PowerBuilder Web Framework will allow PowerBuilder customers to leverage on existing investments such as development skills sets and developed Powerbuilder COM or C or C++ components and at the same time support J2EE component requirement. This Framework is built on a J2EE 1.3 certified application server. The benefits of PowerBuilder Web Framework for customers include the ability to quick-start a Web application and reuse existing PowerBuilder codes.
In order to help customers, Sybase consultants are available on-site to transfer knowledge and customize reference implementation. PowerBuilder Web Framework is targeted at enterprise customers who have already invested in PowerBuilder and at the same time would like to build a new Web application and extend their PowerBuilder applications to the Web.
Features of PowerBuilder Web Framework include security authentication and authorization, J2EE security standard conformity, simplified GUI design, custom made 慉ction Servlet? configuration based HTMLDW, high performance datawindow memory caching technology, PowerBuilder Servlet ancestor, device/browser detection mechanism, root context adapter, XML Web application configuration, IIS & iPlanet Web server redirection, Internet datawindow report server and ready-made Web application for implementation reference.
