Windows Media 8 Encoding Utility
Microsoft® Windows Media™ 8 Encoding Utility is a command-line tool that enables the creation of Windows Media-based content using the latest audio and video compression technology. It includes many of the features of Windows Media Encoder 7, but provides new compression/decompression algorithms (codecs) that significantly improve audio and video quality.
Using Windows Media 8 Encoding Utility, you can:
Convert uncompressed files with .wma, .wmv, .avi, and .wav file name extensions to the compressed Windows Media format.
Perform one-pass constant-bit-rate encoding on your audio and video content, perform two-pass constant bit rate on your video content, and perform one- and two-pass variable-bit-rate encoding on your video content.
Create batch files that produce multiple Windows Media audio and video files or encode all files in a directory.
Encode specific portions of a file.
Convert the audio sampling rate as part of the encoding process.
Apply inverse telecine or deinterlacing filters to your content.
Clip and resize and the source video as part of the encoding process.
Apply a number of different encoding profiles depending on your audience needs.
