Sybase ASE12.5的备份问题，来救救我啊！！！

ASE系统里面的参数没有做过任何修改（除了关于max memory这个地方的参数），另就把local.dat里面的【nt】段的default字符集改成cp850。

Sybase安装在C盘，设备建在D盘（rsshop.dat为数据段设备，大小为8G；rsshoplog.dat为日志段设备，大小为3G，数据库rsshop由rsshop.dat和rsshoplog.dat组成），dmp文件放在E盘上，E盘的剩余空间为15G。

Dump master数据库没有问题，但是Dump rsshop数据库会出现问题，错误日志如下：

应该是超越最后阀值引起,这个你可以添加日志设备来解决

另外可以试试
dump database dbname to path1
stripe on path2
stripe on path3
stripe on path4
stripe on path5
把dump文件分成5份

以上方法都试过了，但是还是不能解决。

不过最后我在Sybase.com上面找到答案了，现在帖出来给大家分享一下，避免其他人也走弯路。
Problem Description:
Backup Server Internal Error: 4.76.3.3: Device /dev/vx/rds
k/data/subdata: 0 is not a legal virtual block number.

Key Words: backup server

Tip or Workaround:
CR263281: Databases created with chunks of space larger than 4 GB on the same device cannot be dumped or loaded.

The dump will faill with backupserver error: Backup Server Internal Error: 4.76.3.3: Device /work5/test.dat: 0 is not a legal virtual block

Workaround: Keep all contiguous allocations of space in a database to less than 4 GB.

Therefore, instead of: create database on dev1=4 gig,dev2=4gig... use create database on dev1=<4gig, dev2=<4gig,dev1=<4gig...




Resolution:
CR263281: Databases created with fragments of space 4 GB or larger cannot be dumped or loaded. The dump will fail with backupserver error: Backup Server Internal Error: 4.76.3.3: Device /work5/test.dat: 0 is not a legal virtual block number. This will be followed by ASE error 8006.

CR263281 is fixed in ebf 9981, 12.5.0.1 IR Adaptive Server Enterprise 32-bit, and in ebf 9982, 12.5.0.1 IR Adaptive Server Enterprise 64-bit.
