请问怎么更新mysql 中的BLOB字段

数据库是mysql, 用了mysqldb扩展
程序是python 写的

graph 是类型为blog的字段
image 是图片对象实例

我试了 update table set graph=image 不行
update table set graph=%s 还是不行

在论坛上查到 update table set pic='".$pic."' 好像可以

但是我不知道应该怎么把image赋给.$pic.

有哪位知道的能指点一下吗，最好给个例子
