Job Description
Summary of role：The Management Information Systems (MIS) / Business Intelligence (BI) Manager will work with staff, vendors and business partners to develop the Business Intelligence (BI) Systems business concept, business plan, organization, and strategy. The key to this role is the ability to interact with business stakeholders and match their needs with technology solutions. This includes researching BI technologies, making recommendations that are in line with the enterprise IT strategy, and insuring those technologies is implemented and staff is developed appropriately. The BI Manager is also responsible for selecting technical staff and developing staff members, assigning BI project team member, and overseeing BI team activities. This role demands a strong leader who can partner effectively with all levels of the organization and deliver results. The BI Manager must have an excellent understanding of business process, business analysis, and modeling techniques. They must also have the ability to articulate technology concepts to both high level business audiences and highly technical individuals. Communication and critical thinking are paramount
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Recommends, supports, and provides knowledge transfer where appropriate on business intelligence tools (reporting, modeling, master data management)
Responsible for technology that facilitates the balanced scorecard initiative
Recommends, supports, and guides implementation of enterprise data warehouse technologies
Use business analysis skills to work with others to understand the context of data quality issues.
Measure the extent of the issue using ERWIN and Informatica_s data quality tools.
Analyze and communicate the meaning of the results to business team members in business meaningful and actionable terms.
Provide detailed reports to support manual cleanup of the data by the business.
Work with the IT Team members to understand the root causes for data inaccuracies and develop recommendations on how the business can constantly improve its data quality.
Implement monitoring and notification processes to proactively identify and resolve data quality issues under guidance of Project Manager.
Develop summary data quality reports and metrics for management.
Qualification / Competencies:
Experience in using ERWIN
Experience in Business Analysis
Solid foundation in data warehousing, ETL, executive dashboards, OLAP, data mining and data modeling
Solid, hands on experience with best of breed business intelligence products (for example: Cognos, Informatica, Hyperion, Business Objects, Microsoft, etc.)
Strong knowledge of SDLC and methodology working knowledge of architectural best practices and patterns related to OLTP, OLAP, and other data structures.
5+years of experience in staff and project
10+years of experience in information technology.
