php socket 发邮件

请教
我在网上找到了段代码，是php socket发邮件的。我在本地测试好用。
可是当上传到服务器在测就链接不上了。

请教如何解决？？？？？？？？？

host：SMTP.163.com
port:25

用linux的测试端口命令看看那个机器25端口有没有开，PHP里好象就有测试代码，可惜我对PHP不熟悉！

服务器在美国
方分析一下
有几种问题的可能
1，服务器关闭或屏蔽了端口
2，服务器不支持socket （这种情况可能性不大）
3................
