can not login at serial console

Dear all,

I have 2 sparc machines (280R, E250), as i have no monitor with them, i connect them using serial console cable with terminal at windows. it is working well for quite a long time

These days, at the windows terminal, at [hostname] console login prompt, i can type in the username, while the password prompt never displayed.

Besides this, the machices running well, i can telnet to them and su to root.

I have not install any patch these days..

Anyone experienced these?
