context object vs. DTO: a new fuzzy line
just finished context object pattern, which is new on core j2ee patterns, edition 2.
the authors claimed the difference between them lies in that:
context object is to share system info in a protocol-neutral way. DTO is to reduce remote network overhead.
while in the examples, especially the request context object, we seems their similarity to DTO, or at least, VO.
I'd rather limit the concept of context object to just config object.
any idea?
