计算社会科学区别传统社会科学，在数据获取上，不局限于传统的问卷和田野调查等方法，而是利用充分利用互联网大数据与AI 算法，来研究曾经受数据规模所限制而尚未被探索的个体或集体人类行为，对社会现象提出崭新的理解。

在本次AI&Society 沙龙中，Evans 教授将结合多年的教学、研究、基金申请，与主持各类计算社会科学研讨会的经验，回顾与介绍计算社会科学发展的历史与现状，并展望该领域的未来发展。

主讲简介

James Evans 是芝加哥大学社会学系教授，是科学学（science of science）、复杂网络、知识社会学的世界级知名学者。毕业于斯坦福大学，曾在哈佛大学从事社会组织结构方面的研究，在芝加哥大学创立知识挖掘实验室，并创立和主持了芝加哥大学计算社会学硕士项目。主要兴趣包括：群体智能、社会组织结构分析、科技创新产生和传播规律等，在 Science, PNAS, American Journal of Sociology，Management Science 等顶级期刊上发表大量文章。
