I. Purpose and Background of the Survey

FitTrack is an application designed to help users improve their fitness results and health management. With a front-end and back-end separation architecture, the app combines modern exercise tracking and health data analysis functions to provide personalized fitness plans and health management services. In order to better understand user usage and their needs, we conducted a user survey.

The primary purpose of this survey is to collect feedback on FitTrack's performance in the following areas:

  • User Needs: Understand users' real needs in fitness, including their fitness goals, exercise frequency, and preferred types of exercises.

    Example survey questions:

    • What is your main purpose for using FitTrack?
    • How often do you engage in fitness activities each week?
    • What problems have you encountered while using FitTrack?
  • User Experience: Investigate users’ satisfaction with FitTrack's user experience, including features, interface, personalized recommendations, etc.

    Example survey questions:

    • How satisfied are you with FitTrack’s current interface design?
    • How do you find FitTrack’s personalized recommendation feature?
    • What improvements or new features would you like to see in FitTrack?

II. Research Overview

  1. Scope and Participants of the Survey This survey primarily targets existing FitTrack users. The participants are fitness enthusiasts who have downloaded and used the app, including beginners, intermediate users, and advanced fitness users. We focused on collecting feedback from high-frequency users and gathered insights on their experience. In addition, we surveyed potential future users to understand their expectations and needs.

  2. Survey Timing and Methods The survey took place from December 8 to December 14, 2024. To ensure data accuracy and representativeness, we used a combination of online questionnaires and user interviews.

    • Online Questionnaire: The questionnaire is an efficient and scalable data collection method. It covers users' basic information, fitness habits, user experience, satisfaction, and more. By inviting a wide range of users to participate, we gathered a large amount of quantitative data.

    • User Interviews: In addition to the online questionnaire, we conducted one-on-one interviews to gain in-depth insights. The interviews were conducted face-to-face with users to explore aspects such as user experience, shopping psychology, pain points, and suggestions. A sample of high-frequency users was selected from the surrounding area.


III. Overview of User Demographics and Usage Characteristics

  1. User Demographics We gathered a wealth of basic information about users, including but not limited to the following:

    • Age Distribution: Users ranged from 18 to 35 years old, with the largest group being between 20 and 30 years of age.
    • Fitness Experience: The user base includes beginners, intermediate users, and experienced fitness enthusiasts, with varying levels of experience impacting their app usage needs.
    • Usage Frequency: We gained insight into the usage frequency among different user groups, including high-frequency and low-frequency users.
  2. User Usage Characteristics

    • Fitness Habits: Most users regularly engage in fitness activities, including aerobic exercises, strength training, and stretching. FitTrack users mainly focus on tracking and analyzing their exercise data, especially for personalized workout adjustments.

    • Usage Preferences: Users have high expectations for personalized recommendations and want the app to provide scientific fitness advice. They prefer a simple, intuitive interface and seek features like efficient workout tracking, progress analysis, and health management tools.


IV. User Satisfaction Survey Results

Scores and Analysis of Various Indicators

  • Interface Design (7.7): Users generally find the interface to be simple and intuitive, but some users expressed a desire for more personalized interface options and theme settings.

  • Functionality (8.0): FitTrack offers a variety of features, such as workout tracking, data analysis, and health reports. Users are satisfied with the functionality, but some expressed interest in additional customization options.

  • Personalized Recommendations (7.5): Users feel that the personalized recommendation feature needs improvement. They would like more accurate recommendations for training plans and dietary advice based on their goals and historical data.

  • Exercise Data Accuracy (8.2): Users generally find the exercise data provided by FitTrack to be accurate, reflecting their fitness progress effectively.

  • Customer Support (7.9): Users are satisfied with the customer service, appreciating the responsive and helpful attitude in addressing their issues.

Overall User Experience Composite Rating: 7.8 —— 8.0


V. Conclusions and Recommendations

Based on the survey results, our team found that the primary user base of FitTrack consists of young fitness enthusiasts, ranging from beginners to intermediate users. The users are generally satisfied with the app, especially with the accuracy of exercise data and the overall functionality. However, there is a demand for improvements in personalized recommendations, interface customization, and advanced features.

Improvement Suggestions:

  • Personalized Recommendations: Further optimize the personalized recommendation algorithm to provide more accurate workout and dietary suggestions based on users' goals and data.
  • Interface Design: Enhance the customization options for the interface, allowing users to personalize the layout and themes according to their preferences.
  • New Features: Add more customizable features, such as social sharing, virtual fitness coaches, and other interactive functions to increase user engagement.
  • Data Analysis: Improve the data analysis capabilities, providing more detailed fitness reports and trend forecasts to help users manage their fitness goals more effectively.

In the future, FitTrack will continue to improve its technical aspects, introducing innovative features based on user needs, and enhancing the overall user experience, making it an essential tool for users' health management and fitness routines.
