001 Application Service Manager [1] －－Suzhou/Singapore TOP
A. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Deputy GM of the development centre, the Application Services Manager shall lead, guide and ensure the smooth functioning of a team of .Net software engineers of at least 40 staff, including a few Project Managers and Project Leaders, to carry out software development and maintenance projects for customers in China, Singapore or other overseas countries.
Chart direction for the development and growth of the technical team to support the organization goal.
Role
1 To liaise with users to understand their preliminary requirements and develop an application proposal from these requirements.
2 To review or carry out manpower requirement estimates for new application software projects.
3 To provide coaching and supervision to new project managers.
4 To manage human resources including assignment of tasks, to cater for project requirements, and to develop technical and management competencies of staff, and guide them in their career development.
5 To oversee several projects simultaneously at management level, and provide technical and management guidance to the Project Managers or Team Leaders.
6 To hands-on manage big-scale project, from requirement gathering phase to implementation where necessary.
Pre-requisites
1 Have at least 12 years experience in application software development, with at least 5 years in project management or team management. Have ever managed project / team size of at least 20 persons.
2 Have few years of solid project experience on .Net platform, includes analyzing user/business requirements and applying best-practice standards, methodologies, models, and technologies in development and executing recommendations on system architecture and software application design, development, testing, implementation, and improvements/refinements.
3 Familiar with project management concepts, and structured software development and maintenance methodology. Experience with ISO9000 and CMMi implementation is preferred.
4 People development and management skill is important.
