Peter is looking for a computer person inside of China to cooperate with his team in Cosca Rica where his company's server is. Since they often have problems as the internet in China is quite complicated. They need a person within mainland China to work on this problem when it's necessary. I talked with Albert and we are thinking it's better off to have a person related and close to our company inside of China who are more in the computer side. The requirement as followed:
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
Video streaming technologies
PC support and trouble shooting
Software installation
Understanding of TCP/IP traffic and performance issues
Experience with packet sniffing
ENGLISH
He must have some WAN knowledge and experience along with basic server skills. We need a balance between WAN experience (because there will be no router configuring so hands on skills are not necessary) and server skills.
The person in China would, with the head office's help, identify the slowdowns and get them solved by talking to the ISP or looking at other services with other ISP's, etc. They would also test from within China and perform basic work on the server if necessary. They need someone that can go to ISP's and effectively communicate the problem they are having to them and lean on them to get it fixed.
The person would need to be able to work in the evening in order to work with their tech people in the morning in Costa Rica. The person would also have to be able to have access to different types of PCs with different versions of Operating Systems on them, as well as access to different types of internet connections. The job would most likely involve a little bit of travel in order to go to different regents in China to test connectivity and download speed etc.
They don't think it is a full-time job, but the person would need to be flexible and pretty much on call. A university graduate from computer science or something like that would be good. Or somebody who works free-lance in the computer industry. It the person is tied down to a 9-5 it might be hard to accommodate us, unless the person is very well connected in other parts of China to be able to arrange tests in different regions.
