Team Foundation Server is Ready!
Team Foundation Server is Ready
We are very excited to announce the release to manufacture (RTM) of Team Foundation Server today. Bits are expected to be available on to customers on the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) on Monday, March 20.
Team Foundation Server is a workflow collaboration engine that enables the use of a team's customized process, as well as a centralized data warehouse that collects real-time intelligence on project history.
Team Foundation Server, along with the rest of Visual Studio Team System, brings together the core roles that are part of the software development process.
Our approach is unique in that usability has been designed upfront and integration across the lifecycle designed from the ground up. We are focused on usability and getting individuals and teams on board with the software development process in a friction-free way.
Another area of significant customer concern is compliance and auditing. Out of the box, Team Foundation Server supports the reporting and auditing features of the Software Engineering Institute's Capability Maturity Model (CMMI). With Team Foundation Server, organizations can automatically collect the necessary information to generate customized reports that help address the increases in industry regulation.
In addition, several partners have announced their intent to ship products in conjunction with the availability of Team Foundation Server.
Teamprise announced the impending release of its solution, Teamprise Client Suite 1.0. The Teamprise Client Suite enables software development teams in heterogeneous environments to use the source control and work item tracking features of Team Foundation Server from within the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE), and from other operating systems, including Linux and Mac OS X.
Ravenflow announced RAVEN Professional, a bundle of tools that builds on the success of the company’s RAVEN Scenario product. RAVEN Scenario is the only tool that automatically generates Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams from plain English text, enabling companies to validate requirements before development begins
EDS and Fujitsu notably are instantiating their development methodologies and extending Visual Studio Team System in developing solutions for their customers. Both are also looking forward to leverage the BI and reporting capabilities within Team Foundation Server to collect real-world, real-time data for impact analysis & capacity planning
