Using Ruby on embedded system

I know ruby is 'hot' for web development now ... but I am an embedded guy, using C/C++ for years.

I think Ruby is a good language for embedded system too, IIRC that's one of the original design goal of Ruby ?

What do you think that developing Ruby application for embedded system ? I know there is Perl/Tk for WinCE, maybe Ruby/wxWidget or Ruby/Tk for WinCE would be better, comment ?
