is anyone know AES proposal?

i want to know the difference between WEP and AES? is it for 802.11i new standard? in the present 802.11, is there any way to improve it's WEP protocal security? i mean, can i find a way to replace RC4 with other algorithm? is AES for this purpers?
how about wireless security in China? do you use that 802.11 standard too?
