Life Insurance Company A is planning to replace their core system by using Agile methodology. However, this company does not have mature agile capability to serve for this project.

Based on current resource planning, business can only allocate 20 FTE while IT can assign 24 FTE into this project. However, the PO is a gap to fulfill. Only 2 employees can be identified as PO.

Business decided to use big-bang strategy once the MVP is released.



System Vendor B is selected, and they agree to put 40 Headcount month into this project. Vendor suggests breakdown into 7 scrums, including business and IT. Scrum master will be provided by this vendor.

Based on the system POC and some requirement gathering, company A has agreed the MVP scale, and target to release the MVP in 8 months and another 3 iterations will be followed after the MVP release.



Question:

1. If you are the business PM for this project, based on your agile expertise,

a) Is there any scrum component is missing? If you are allowed to add more resource, what kind of resource do you want to add and why?

b) If any risk you can foresee, how do you mitigate? (top 3 risks)

c) What kind of project governance do you want to build so that you can manage the 7 scrums and track their status?

d) If you need to provide a weekly report to management team, what kind of update do you think that you need to update?
